Hosting & Support

Keep it running, keep it fresh

Once a site is live it still needs looking after. Hosting, security updates, backups, the odd tweak when something needs changing. This is the ongoing service that handles that, so you don't have to think about it. Three clear tiers depending on how much hands-on work you need.

Tiered pricing

Standard

£20/month

Best for sites that sit there and just need to be online and looked after.

  • Reliable hosting with 99.9% uptime
  • SSL certificate and HTTPS
  • Security updates and patching
  • Automated daily backups
  • Monthly uptime and performance report
  • Email support

Active

£50/month

Best for sites that need the odd change or tweak each month.

  • Everything in Standard
  • 1 hour of content or design tweaks per month (rolls over up to 2 months if unused)
  • Priority response to support tickets
  • Monthly check-in on analytics and performance

Custom

From £100/month

Best for larger sites, WordPress installations, web apps, or anything that needs proper monthly attention.

  • Everything in Active, plus more dedicated time
  • Scoped to your platform: WordPress and custom apps take more maintenance than a simple Next.js site
  • Custom content update frequency
  • Proactive performance and security monitoring
  • Quarterly review call

Pricing scales with platform complexity. WordPress, ecommerce, and custom apps typically land at Custom level.

What typically extends the scope

Things that bump the quote up, in plain English.

  • Major redesigns (that's a separate project, see Redesigns)
  • New feature builds on web apps (scoped separately)
  • High-volume ecommerce with inventory syncing
  • Managed 24/7 uptime monitoring for business-critical platforms
  • Content creation or copywriting as a service

Anything outside the monthly tier gets a fixed price up front so you're not surprised.

What it looks like in practice

Hosting and support is usually where a project ends up after launch. Sites I've built move straight onto it. For sites I haven't built, there's a one-off onboarding quote to audit the current setup and migrate things over cleanly. After that, the monthly tier takes over as normal.

Common questions

Can you host a site you didn't build?
Yes. Taking over an existing site needs an onboarding step first. That covers auditing what's there, migrating the hosting, and getting everything into a maintainable state. Quoted as a one-off based on the scope of the site. Once you're on, the monthly tier takes over as normal.
What happens if I need more than an hour of work in a month?
If it's a bit more I'll usually absorb it. If it's a lot more I'll flag it up front and we'll either scope it as a separate job or bump you to a higher tier that month.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. 30 days notice, no long contracts.
Do you do annual pricing?
Yes. Pay annually and you save 2 months.
What if the site goes down?
I monitor uptime and get alerted. If it goes down I'm on it, usually fixed before most people notice.
What about WordPress sites specifically?
WordPress needs more hands-on maintenance than a modern stack does (plugin updates, core updates, security checks). Those usually sit at the Custom tier.
